Selector Lever Position Switch, Remove and Install
(AF 13-II/AF 17/AF 20)
 Remove
Remove battery.
Remove battery support.

Press off selector actuation cable (2) from actuator lever.
Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) of selector lever position
switch – open lock clip in direction of arrow.
Remove actuator lever (3) from selector lever shaft – at
the same time remove fastening nut.

For AF 20: Remove fluid filler tube – see operation "Fluid
Filler Tube and/or Seal Ring, Replace (AF 20/AF 22)".

Remove detent screws (1).
Bend up lock tab (2) and remove fastening nut (3).
Detach selector lever position switch from selector lever shaft
and transmission.

Install
Place selector lever position switch on selector lever
shaft.
Install fastening nut with new lock tab on selector lever shaft
– tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft. Secure fastening nut
with lock tab. Install actuator lever with new fastening nut on
selector lever shaft – tightening torque 16 Nm / 12 lbf.

Attach detent screws (1), do not tighten.

 Adjust
Adjust selector lever position switch – see operation
"Selector Lever Position Switch, Adjust (AF 13-II/AF 17/AF 20/AF
22)"
Tighten detent screws – tightening torque 25 Nm / 18 lbf.

For AF 20: Install fluid filler tube – see operation
"Fluid Filler Tube and/or Seal Ring, Replace (AF 20/AF 22)".
Install
Press selector actuation cable on actuator lever for selector
lever position switch (ball socket on ball pivot).
Connect and lock wiring harness plug of selector lever position
switch.
Install battery support – tightening torque 15 Nm / 11 lbf
ft.
Install battery.
Inspect
Shift through transmission and check selector positions. If
necessary: Adjust selector actuation cable – see operation
"Selector Actuation Cable, Adjust (AF 13-II/AF 17/AF 20/AF
22)".
