Centre Valve Body, Disassemble and Assemble (AF
17)
Note: The valve body
should only be disassembled for cleaning purposes as the individual
parts are not available from suppliers. Thus extreme care should be
exercised when performing this work.
 Remove
Remove valve body – see operation "Valve Body, Remove and
Install (Transmission Removed) (AF 17)".
Disassemble
Disassemble valve body – see operation "Valve Body,
Disassemble and Assemble (AF 17)".

Remove primary control valve consisting of primary control valve
(3), with spring, primary control valve piston (2), primary control
valve sleeve (1) with primary control valve wedge.
Remove converter clutch modulator consisting of converter clutch
modulator (4) with spring, converter clutch modulator plug (5) with
converter clutch modulator wedge.
Remove 3/4-way shift valve consisting of 3/4-way shift valve (6)
with spring, 3/4-way shift valve sleeve (7) 3/4-way shift valve
plug with 3/4-way shift valve wedge.
Remove 2/3 shift valve consisting of 2/3 shift valve with
spring, 2/3 shift valve plug with 2/3 shift valve wedge.

Remove 1/2 shift valve consisting of 1/2 shift valve (4) with
spring, 1/2 shift valve plug with 1/2 shift valve wedge.
Remove modulator valve B1 consisting of modulator valve B1 (6)
with spring, modulator valve B1 sleeve (5), modulator valve B1 plug
with modulator valve B1 wedge.
Remove accumulator control valve consisting of accumulator
control valve (3), with spring, accumulator control valve piston
(2), accumulator control valve plug (1) with accumulator control
valve wedge.
Inspect
Check all parts for wear or damage and replace valve body if
necessary.

Assemble
|
Insert accumulator control valve consisting of accumulator
control valve (3), with spring, accumulator control valve piston
(2), accumulator control valve plug (1) and lock with accumulator
control valve wedge.
Insert modulator valve B1 consisting of modulator valve B1 (6)
with spring, modulator valve B1 sleeve (5), modulator valve B1 plug
and lock with modulator valve B1 wedge.
Insert 1/2 shift valve consisting of 1/2 shift valve (4) with
spring, 1/2 shift valve plug and lock with 1/2 shift valve
wedge.

Insert 2/3 shift valve consisting of 2/3 shift valve with
spring, 2/3 shift valve plug and lock with 2/3 shift valve
wedge.
Insert 3/4-way shift valve consisting of 3/4-way shift valve (6)
with spring, 3/4-way shift valve sleeve (7) 3/4-way shift valve
plug and lock with 3/4-way shift valve wedge.
Insert converter clutch modulator consisting of converter clutch
modulator (4) with spring, converter clutch modulator plug (5) and
lock with converter clutch modulator wedge.
Insert primary control valve consisting of primary control valve
(3), with spring, primary control valve piston (2), primary control
valve sleeve (1) and lock with primary control valve wedge.

Assemble valve body – see operation "Valve Body,
Disassemble and Assemble (AF 17)".
Install
Install valve body – see operation "Valve Body, Remove and
Install (Transmission Removed) (AF 17)".
