Valve Body, Remove and Install (AF13-II/17)
(Transmission Installed)
 Remove
If present: Remove lower engine cover – see operation
"Lower Engine Cover, Remove and Install" in group "A".
Remove side cover from transmission – see operation "Side
Cover, Remove and Install (AF 13-II/AF 17)".

Disconnect wiring harness plug from solenoid valves: Unclip
neutral shift solenoid valve (1), pressure regulator (2), 2-3 shift
valve (3), 1-2/3-4 shift valve (4), converter clutch solenoid valve
(5), fluid temperature pickup (6).
Remove fastening bolts (arrows – x 8) – note
different bolt lengths. Carefully pull back valve body and detach
connecting rod (7) from toothed segment.
Remove valve body.

Remove seal rings (1) from transmission housing.

Install
Insert new seal rings in transmission housing with assembly
grease.
Insert valve body in transmission housing – attach
connecting rod to ratchet.
Install valve body on transmission – tightening torque 10
Nm / 7 lbf. ft. Note different bolt lengths.
Connect wiring harness plug to solenoid valves and pressure
regulator. Clip temperature sensor on valve body. Insert wiring
harness in retaining clamp – ensure flawless cable
routing.
Attach side cover to transmission – see operation "Side
Cover, Remove and Install (AF 13-II/AF 17)".
If present: Remove lower engine cover – see operation
"Lower Engine Cover, Remove and Install" in group "A".
