Steering Crossmember, Remove and Install
 Remove
Important: Disconnect battery and
wait 1 minute for the capacitor to discharge.

Disconnect the battery
|
| 3. |
Detach instrument panel padding 
|
| 4. |
Remove passenger airbag
|
| 5. |
Detach steering column support tube
|
| 6. |
Disconnect fan motor series resistor wiring harness plug
(3)
|
| 7. |
Detach clutch pedal bearing support from steering
crossmember
|
| 8. |
Detach brake pedal bearing support from steering
crossmember
|
| 9. |
Detach wiring harness from steering crossmember
|
| 10. |
Disengage and disconnect brake pedal and accelerator pedal
wiring harness plugs
|
| 11. |
Detach steering crossmember centre bracket
|
|
|
Important: Avoid damaging the
interior
|
| 12. |
Detach steering crossmember
Note: This requires a
second fitter.
| • |
Unscrew 4x bolt (arrows)
|
|
|
|
Install
Important: Avoid damaging the
interior
|
| 13. |
Attach steering crossmember
Note: This requires a
second fitter.
| • |
Tighten 4x bolt 20 Nm
Note: Use screw locking
compound when inserting bolts.
|
|
| 14. |
Attach steering crossmember centre bracket
| • |
Tighten bolt 13 Nm
Note: Use screw locking
compound when inserting bolts
|
|
| 15. |
Connect brake pedal and accelerator pedal wiring harness
plugs
|
| 16. |
Attach wiring harness to steering crossmember
|
| 17. |
Install brake pedal bearing support on steering crossmember
| • |
Tighten 2x bolt 20 Nm
Note: Use screw locking
compound when inserting bolts
|

| 18. |
Install clutch pedal bearing support on steering
crossmember
| • |
Tighten 2x bolt 20 Nm
Note: Use screw locking
compound when inserting bolts
|
|
| 19. |
Connect fan motor series resistor wiring harness plug
|
| 20. |
Attach steering column support tube
|
| 21. |
Attach passenger airbag
|
| 22. |
Attach instrument panel padding
|
| 25. |
Program volatile memory
|
|
