Tilt Play of Wheel Bearing Unit, Measure

Note: If there is
noticeable play on an installed wheel, measure as follows:
 Remove
| 1. |
Remove corresponding rear wheel.
|
| 2. |
For vehicles with drum brakes: Remove brake drum 
|
| 3. |
Attach KM-6610 (3) and KM-468-B (6) to wheel hub with wheel bolts (7)
|
| 4. |
Attach MKM-571-B (2), (5) to brake
calliper or brake anchor plate with magnetic base (1) or clamping
bracket (4)
|
| 5. |
Position probe of MKM-571-B (2), (5)
on outer edge of the brake disc or wheel bearing unit
|
| 6. |
Check play by slightly levering with KM-6610 (3) or KM-468-B
(6)
|
| 7. |
Max. permitted tilt play is 0.1
mm
Note: If this value is
exceeded the wheel bearing unit must be replaced
|
|
|
Install
| 8. |
Detach MKM-571-B with magnetic base
or clamping bracket
|
| 10. |
For vehicles with drum brakes: Attach brake drum
|
| 11. |
Attach rear wheel 110 Nm
|
