Brake Fluid Level Sensor, Remove and Install > < Brake Fluid Reservoir, Replace (LHD)

Brake Fluid Reservoir, Replace (RHD)

  Remove

1.   Detach cover of brake fluid reservoir
2.   Siphon out as much brake fluid as possible with siphon bottle
3.   Unclip wiring harness from reservoir
4.   Disconnect wiring harness plug (2) from brake fluid level sensor
5.   Detach brake fluid reservoir (1) from brake master cylinder
•   Unscrew bolt (3)
•   Remove brake fluid reservoir carefully from brake master cylinder
Note:   Collect brake fluid and seal apertures
6.   For vehicles with manual transmission: detach supply line for clutch master cylinder from brake fluid reservoir
Note:   Collect brake fluid and seal apertures.
7.   Detach brake fluid level sensor

  Install

8.   Replace seals (1) on brake master cylinder
Note:   Do not use mineral oils or greases when inserting seals (1) or when attaching feed line for clutch master cylinder to brake fluid reservoir. If necessary, brake cylinder paste should be used.
9.   Attach brake fluid level sensor
10.   For vehicles with manual transmission: Attach supply line for clutch master cylinder to brake fluid reservoir.
11.   Attach brake fluid reservoir to brake master cylinder
Note:   Ensure brake fluid reservoir is seated perfectly.
•   Attach brake fluid reservoir to brake master cylinder
•   Screw in bolt
12.   Connect wiring harness plug to brake fluid level sensor
13.   Clip wiring harness on at brake fluid reservoir

14.   Brake System, Bleed
15.   Top up brake fluid reservoir to "MAX" marking
16.   Screw cover on to brake fluid reservoir
