Replace fan motor (without air conditioning)

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
2.   Disconnect battery
•   Detach earth connection from negative terminal
– Slacken nut
3.   Remove resonator (1)
•   Detach air intake pipe
•   Unscrew bolt (2)
•   Unclip resonator in direction of arrow

4.   Detach upper radiator hose (1) from fan housing
•   Open 3x clips (2)
•   Remove 3x clip
– Turn through 90°

5.   Disconnect cooling module wiring harness plug (1)

6.   Remove fan housing
•   Unscrew 2x bolts (1)
•   Pull 2x brackets (2) upwards out of radiator
•   Lift fan housing up and off

7.   Remove fan motor out of fan housing
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug (1)
– Unscrew bolt (2)
•   Unclip wiring harness (arrows)
•   Unscrew 3x bolts (3)

  Install

8.   Install fan motor in fan housing
•   Tighten 3x bolts
•   Fix wiring harness plug
– Screw in bolt
– Clip in 2x wiring harnesses
9.   Insert fan housing in bracket on radiator from above
10.   Attach fan housing to radiator
•   Tighten 2x bolts
11.   Connect cooling module wiring harness plug
12.   Attach upper coolant hose to fan housing
•   Install 3x clip
•   Insert coolant hose in clips
•   Close 3x clip
13.   Install resonator
•   Clip resonator to upper front of vehicle
•   Tighten bolt
•   Attach air intake pipe
14.   Connect battery
•   Attach earth connection to negative terminal
– Tighten nut
15.   Program volatile memories
16.   Close bonnet
