Replace timing chain (secondary)
Remove
1. |
Remove camshaft timing chain
|
2. |
Lift camshaft timing chain
|
3. |
Raise vehicle by its full height
|
4. |
Remove crankshaft sprocket of camshaft timing chain (1)
|
|
|
|
5. |
Remove chain tensioner of balance shaft timing chain (8)
|
6. |
Remove tension rail of balance shaft timing chain (7)
|
7. |
Remove upper guide rail of balance shaft timing chain (2)
|
8. |
Remove lower guide rail of balance shaft timing chain (5)
|
9. |
Remove balance shaft timing chain (1)
|
|
Install
|
Important: Coloured timing chain
links must tally with the sprocket markings.
|

Install balance shaft timing chain

Place timing chain in position
– |
Copper-coloured chain link (2) on intake side balance shaft
marking
|
– |
Chain link (3) on marking of sprocket of balance shaft timing
chain
Note: Affix using a
plastic wedge.

– |
Place chain on coolant pump sprocket
|
– |
Chain link (1) on marking of balance shaft exhaust side
|
|
|
|

Install lower guide rail of balance shaft timing chain
|
12. |
Install upper guide rail of balance shaft timing chain
|
13. |
Install tension rail of balance shaft timing chain
|
14. |
Install chain tensioner of balance shaft timing chain (1)

Use KM-6077
Note: Press in piston
while rotating clockwise and lock using KM-6077 .

Remove plastic wedge
Note: Check markings
and installation position.

Attach crankshaft sprocket of camshaft timing chain
Note: Pay attention to
installation position

Lower vehicle by its full height
|
17. |
Install camshaft timing chain
