The following test steps must be performed in the given order. If a fault is found in one test step, the subsequent test steps can be skipped.
Trouble Codes
- Select the following Functional System:
Electronic Diesel Injection System Multijet 6JO, Z 13 DTH
- Read and record trouble codes
If any of the following trouble codes with status PRESENT are stored, perform the related actions.
With trouble code P0180 recognised:
With trouble code P1180 recognised:
System Specific Features
- This trouble code is set when an engine protection function is activated.
(overheating protection)
Function Checks
- Check the following system for proper operation:
Fuel cooling system
Engine Cooling
Engine (oil leakage, oil level, mechanical operating condition)
- Check the following system - only if installed - for proper operation:
Diesel Particulate Filter
Inform the customer, that the system behaviour is normal respectively how to operate the system correctly.
- Operation mode with high load and low fuel reserve
or
- Operation mode with high load and high coolant temperature
or
- Operation mode with high load and low engine-oil level
After successful test/fault repair proceed to the next test step

Overheating of the system caused by overload
