  • Ignition OFF
  • Remove electrical component from socket:
    K14_X125 Relay - Filter Heating
  • Measure voltage between:
    K14_X125 Relay - Filter Heating
    Socket Terminal 30
    &
    Ground

greater than 11 V

Voltage Measurement Current Value: V
Yes: No:

Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between:
    K14_X125 Relay - Filter Heating
    Socket Terminal 86
    &
    Ground

Check: Short to Voltage of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Measure voltage between:
    K14_X125 Relay - Filter Heating
    Socket Terminal 87
    &
    Ground

Check: Short to Voltage of Signal Circuit

  • Connect test lamp ( 3 W ) and multimeter in parallel and measure voltage between the following terminals:
    K14_X125 Relay - Filter Heating
    Socket Terminal 85
    &
    Ground

less than 0.3 V

Check: Short to Ground of Signal Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    (Wiring Harness Connector XC20 )
  • Measure resistance between:
    K14_X125 Relay - Filter Heating
    Socket Terminal 85
    &
    Ground

greater than 500 kOhm

Resistance Measurement Current Value: kOhm
Yes: No:

Check: Interruption of Signal Circuit

  • Measure resistance between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 76 (XC20)
    &
    K14_X125 Relay - Filter Heating
    Socket Terminal 85

less than 5 Ohm

Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    R27 Filter Heating
  • Connect fused jumper wire to:
    K14_X125 Relay - Filter Heating
    Socket Terminal 30
    &
    K14_X125 Relay - Filter Heating
    Socket Terminal 87
  • Measure voltage between:
    R27 Filter Heating
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 3
    &
    Ground

greater than 11 V

Check: Circuit Interruption of Ground Circuit

  • Measure voltage between:
    R27 Filter Heating

  • Select the following Functional System on the diagnostic tester:
    Electronic Diesel Injection System Multijet 6JO, Z 13 DTH
  • Select diagnostic tester actuator test:
    Fuel Filter Heating Test
  • Use soft key to activate the corresponding component

  • Use soft key to deactivate the corresponding component
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    K14_X125 Relay - Filter Heating
    Socket Terminal 85
    &
    Battery voltage

  • Ignition OFF
  • Insert electrical component in socket:
    K14_X125 Relay - Filter Heating
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between:
    R27 Filter Heating
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 3
    &
    Ground
  • Select diagnostic tester actuator test:
    Fuel Filter Heating Test
  • Use soft key to activate the corresponding component

    Ground

  • Remove electrical component from socket:
    FE17 Fuse

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E004 Result: Interruption
  • Circuit interruption between:
    R27 Filter Heating
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 4
    &
    Ground
E005 Result: Interruption
  • Circuit interruption between:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 63 (XE2)
    &
    R27 Filter Heating
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 3

or

  • Defective component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

Important:

Important:

Important:

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E010 Result: Defective Component
