Check: Short to Voltage of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    (Wiring Harness Connector XC54 )
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector:
    X63 Engine & Fuel Injection Valves
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 6 (XC54)
    &
    Ground

less than 0.3 V
Voltage Measurement Current Value: V
Yes: No:

Check: Short to Voltage of Voltage Supply Circuit
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 53 (XC54)
    &
    Ground

less than 0.3 V

E001 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    L2A Injection Valve - Cylinder 1
    or
    A84 Control Unit - Engine

Important:

Observe the corresponding safety measures before opening the high pressure fuel system.

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

Note:

The replacement of the components must be done in the listed order.

The system must be checked for proper operation after every replacement.
