| Complaint: |
Customer complain that engine cranks but
don't start, sometimes with P0340 or P0365 in ECU. In some cases
the complaint could be eliminated for test purposes if the camshaft
sensor plug is pulled off. |
| Cause: |
Incorrect position of camshaft half moon
causes too high clearance between camshaft sensor and camshaft half
moon. |
| Production: |
Improvement of the half moon mounting
process has been introduced in production as of the following
enginebreakpoint: 20MY0710 (November 2008). |
Remedy:
In case of customer complaint remove the valve cover and measure the
clearance between camshaft half moon and camshaft sensor. The
clearance must be between 0,1mm - 1,9mm. In case of a higher clearance
the involved camshaft have to be exchanged.
