Multi-clutch Assembly C1, Dismantle and Assemble
(AF17)
Remove
1. |
Remove multi-plate clutch assembly C1
|
|
2. |
Detach friction washer (1)
|
3. |
Detach 3x slotted seal ring (2)
|
4. |
Remove return spring assembly
• |
Remove liner plates (5) and steel plates (6)
– |
Detach retaining ring, multi-plate clutch C1 (3)
|
|
• |
Attach KM-J-23078-A (7) to
multi-plate clutch C1
|
• |
Remove retaining ring with KM-396
(8)
– |
Clamp in nut of KM-J-23078-A for
clamping in the vice
|
– |
Turn housing for multi-plate clutch C1 with KM-J-23078-A
Note: until retaining
ring is freed.
|
|
• |
Relieve stress on KM-J-23078-A and
detach
|
|
|

Relieve stress on KM-J-23078-A and
detach
|
6. |
Remove piston, multi-plate clutch C2 (2)
Important: When inserting in rear
cover, ensure that the slotted seal rings (x 4) do not get
damaged.

• |
Insert housing with piston for multi-plate clutch C1 (1) in
rear cover.
|
• |
Blow in air at low pressure
|
|
7. |
Replace 2x piston seal ring (3) and (4)
Note: Coat with
transmission fluid before installation.
|
8. |
Check lock ball, piston of multi-plate clutch C2 (5)
• |
Check whether lock ball can move by shaking the piston
|
|
|
|
9. |
Check return spring assembly for damage
Note: If necessary
replace return spring assembly
|
Install
10. |
Attach 2x seal ring to piston of multi-plate clutch C1
Note: Use new seal
rings.
|
Important: Place new liner plates
in transmission fluid for at least 2 hours before installation.
|
11. |
Check sliding surfaces of the steel and liner plates for damage
and wear
Note: Replace damaged
components.
|
|
Important: Do not damage seal
rings during assembly
|
12. |
Install piston C1 (2) in housing for multi-plate clutch C1
• |
Attach 2x seal ring to piston of multi-plate clutch C1
Note: Use new seal
rings.
|
• |
Place return spring assembly (1) on piston C1
– |
Attach new retaining ring
|
|
• |
Attach KM-J-23078-A (4)
– |
Compress return springs
|
|
• |
Detach retaining ring with KM-396
(3)
|
• |
Relieve stress on KM-J-23078-A and
detach
|
|
13. |
Install plates (6) and (7)
• |
Place steel plate (7) and liner plate (6) respectively
alternately on piston C2
Note: Number of steel
and liner plates .
|
• |
Install new retaining ring (8)
Note: Ensure it is
seated correctly
|
|
|
14. |
Check function of piston, multi-plate clutch C1
Important: Do not damage seal
rings.
|
• |
Insert multi-plate clutch assembly C1 in rear cover.
|
• |
Blow compressed air into bore in fluid pump (arrow)
Note: Piston of
multi-plate clutch C1 must move.
|
|
|
|
15. |
Attach 3x slotted seal ring (2)
• |
Fit with assembly grease
|
|
16. |
Attach friction washer (1)
• |
Fit with assembly grease
|
|
|
|
17. |
Install multi-plate clutch assembly C1
|
