Multi-disc Brake Assembly B2, Remove and Install

 Remove

Remove multi-plate clutch assembly C1 
|
| 3. |
Remove multi-plate clutch assembly C0 and C3
|
| 4. |
Remove rear ring gear assembly with freewheel F0
|
| 5. |
Remove front ring gear assembly with freewheel F1 and planetary
carrier
|
|
| 6. |
Remove piston, multi-disc brake B2 (6)

Remove 2x flange (2), steel and liner plates (3)
Note: Number of steel
plates and liner plates
| – |
Remove retaining ring (1), multi-disc brake (1) B2
|
|
| • |
Remove return spring assembly (5) from piston for multi-disc
brake B2
| – |
Remove retaining ring (4)
|
|
| • |
Blow in air at low pressure (arrow)
Note: assist with
pliers if necessary
| – |
Cut off the end of KM-994
|
|
|
|
| 7. |
Check all parts for damage
Note: Replace damaged
components.
|
| 8. |
Detach 2x seal ring from piston (3), multi-disc brake B2
| • |
Piston seal ring (outer)(1)
|
| • |
Piston seal ring (inner) (2)
|
|
|
|
Install
| 9. |
Attach 2x seal ring to piston, multi-disc brake B2
Note: Use new seal
rings.

Coat piston seal rings with transmission fluid
|
|
|
| 10. |
Install piston, multi-disc brake B2 (1)
| • |
Attach 2x seal ring to piston, multi-disc brake B2
Note: Use new seal
rings.

| 11. |
Install return spring assembly (2)
| • |
Install retaining ring (3)
Note: Use new retaining
ring.
Retaining ring must sit in groove correctly.

| 12. |
Install liner plates (5) and steel plates (6)
Note: Place new liner
plates in transmission fluid for at least 2 hours before
installation.
Number of steel plates and liner plates, see

insert alternately one steel plate and one liner plate
respectively
|
| • |
Install retaining ring (7)
Note: Use new retaining
ring.

|
| 13. |
Measure piston stroke of multi-disc brake B2
| • |
Measure piston stroke with MKM-571-B
|
| • |
Cut off the end of KM-994
|
| • |
Insert KM-994 in bore (arrow)
|
| • |
Blow in air at low pressure (4 bar)
|
| • |
Place probe of MKM-571-B on the
topmost lining plate
Note: If necessary,
correct necessary piston stroke by installing a suitable
compensating flange from the "Service" Department.

Measured value (1.42...2.19) mm
|
|
|
|
| 14. |
Install front ring gear assembly with freewheel F1 and
planetary carrier
|
| 15. |
Install rear ring gear assembly with freewheel F0
|
| 16. |
Install multi-plate clutch assembly C0 and C3
|
| 17. |
Install multi-plate clutch assembly C1
|
