Check fluid pressure (AF40)
Important: During
full load test, apply hand brake and depress foot brake. Do not
test for longer than 5 seconds because of the risk of overheating
at full load. Take a pause to allow cooling. The transmission fluid
level must be correct.

Remove lower engine compartment cover

Check transmission fluid level 
|

Attach KM-6329 (2) to connection
"D"

| 5. |
Attach fluid pressure gauge

Attach KM-498-B (1) to KM-6329
|
|
|
|
| 6. |
Check fluid temperature
| • |
Connect TECH 2
| – |
Remove TECH 2 connection cover
|
|
Important: Fluid temperature must
be between 50° and 80° C.
|

Select menu item "Transmission fluid temperature"
|
|
Warning: During full load test,

Check fluid level with selector lever in position "D"

Shift selector lever to position "D"

Check fluid pressure at idle speed and with full load - air
conditioning and lighting off

Target value, idle speed: 3.7 - 4.1 bar

| – |
Target value, full load: 13.5 - 14.6 bar
|
|
| • |
If fluid pressure is not within the target value range, replace
the transmission
|
| • |
Switch off engine after check
|
|

Detach fluid pressure gauge
| • |
Detach KM-498-B from KM-6329
|
|
| 9. |
Detach KM-6329 from connection
"D"
|
| 10. |
Insert bolt "D" (1) using new seal ring
|
|
|
| 12. |
Attach KM-6329 (1) connection "R"
|
| 13. |
Attach fluid pressure gauge
| • |
Attach KM-498-B (2) to KM-6329
|
|
|
|
| 14. |
Check fluid temperature
Important: Fluid temperature must
be between 50° and 80° C.

Select menu item "Transmission fluid temperature"
|

Target value, full load: 19.0 - 21.3 bar

If fluid pressure is not within the target value range, replace
the transmission
|

Switch off engine after check
|
|

Detach fluid pressure gauge

Detach KM-498-B from KM-6329
|
|
| 17. |
Detach KM-6329 from connection
"R"
|
Install
| 18. |
Insert bolt "R" (1) using new seal ring
|
|
|
| 19. |
Detach TECH 2
| • |
Install TECH 2 connection cover
|
|
| 20. |
Check transmission fluid level
|
| 21. |
Install lower engine compartment cover
