Remove and install torque converter (AF40)
Remove

Detach converter
Note: Fluid escapes.
Place pan underneath.

Pull converter from transmission with KM-574
|

3. |
Remove oil pump seal ring
• |
Pull out of transmission with KM-328-B (1), KM-469-5 (2)
and KM-6328 (3)

|
Install

Install seal ring
• |
Drive seal ring in flush using KM-674-A (1)
|
|
Important: Ensure the converter
is properly seated. Twist the converter onto the drive shaft up to
the stop in the oil pump.

5. |
Install converter in transmission
• |
Attach converter with KM-574
(arrows)
|
|
|
|
|
6. |
Check and clean converter threads (arrows)
|
7. |
Check converter centring journal (2) for fretting
• |
with a thin coat of grease
|
|
Important: Ensure the converter
is properly seated.
|
8. |
Check the converter for proper seating
• |
Use a calliper gauge to measure the distance between the
contact winding of the converter and the contact surface of the
transmission housing (1) - Distance is approx. 20 mm
|
