Diagnostic Trouble Code Storage Condition

Electronic Control Unit (ECU) Fault - Temperature

• The ascertained Control Unit temperature is out of range.

Effect:

• The telltale is switched on.
• The steering boost is decreased step-wise.

or

• The steering boost is switched off.

Motor Malfunction

• The control unit recognises a mechanical malfunction of the following component via an internal evaluation logic:
  A75 Assembly - Electrical Power Steering

Effect:

• The system telltale is switched on.

Motor Circuit High Current

• The current consumption of the following component is out of the desired range:
  A75 Assembly - Electrical Power Steering

Effect:

• The telltale is switched on.
• The steering boost is decreased step-wise.

or

• The steering boost is switched off.

Motor Lock Protection Active

• The control unit recognises the malfunction of the circuit via an internal evaluation logic.

Generator Malfunction

• The control unit recognises a malfunction via an internal evaluation logic at the following component:
  G8 Alternator

Effect:

• The steering boost is decreased step-wise.

CAN-Bus CIM Message Range/Performance

• The control unit recognises that the CIM sends invalid data by using an internal evaluation logic.

Effect:

• The telltale is switched on.
• The steering boost is decreased step-wise.

or

• The steering boost is switched off.

Airbag Deployed

• The control unit has recognised a vehicle crash, which required airbag deployment.

Effect:

• The steering boost is switched off.

CAN-Bus ECM Message Range/Performance

• The control unit recognises that the ECM sends invalid data by using an internal evaluation logic.
