| Complaint: |
Noises from CIM during steering wheel
motion. |
| Cause: |
Due to relative movement between center
steering wheel and the unlocking mechanism of the winding spring
chafing noises can be occur. |
| Production: |
All Astra-H vehicles are potentially
affected. |
Remedy:
In case of customer complaint dismantle the steering wheel, see
working procedure "Steering wheel replace, group "M", Service
Instruction Astra-H (Document Number 00601214). Take care when
removing the steering wheel not to move the position of the
steering angle sensor otherwise the sensor must be recalibrated.
Add the adhesive foil (Partnumber: 90421606 / Cataloguenumber: 1 57
951) to the center steering wheel in the area of the winding spring
unlocking mechanism see picture I, arrow.
Note: To improve the adhesion of the foil degrease the hub.
Ensure that you wait 45 minutes before the re-installation of the
steering wheel to allow the adhesive foil sufficient time to
cure.
