DTC P0297 5B: Vehicle Overspeed |
Circuit/System Description
The engine control module (ECM) receives the vehicle speed
signal via CAN from the electronic brake control module (EBCM).
Conditions for Running the DTC
• |
The DTCs run continuously once
the above condition is met. |
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The ECM detects a vehicle speed above 326 km/h (203 MPH).
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
DTC P0297 5B is a Type A DTC.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTC P0297 5B is a Type A DTC.

Ignition ON, verify that no
DTC is present in the EBCM. |

Drive the vehicle, verify the
speedometer gauge value matches the ECM scan tool Vehicle Speed
Sensor parameter. |
Circuit/System Testing

Clear the DTCs with a scan
tool. |
2. |
Ignition OFF for 30 s.

3. |
Operate the vehicle within the
Conditions for Running the DTC. |
