Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Actuator Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.

2. Unclip the throttle body heater outlet hose (2) from the intake manifold (1).
3. Disconnect the booster vacuum pipe (3) from the intake manifold.
4. Remove the intake manifold runner control valve actuator solenoid valve. Refer to Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve Actuator Solenoid Valve Replacement .

5. Unclip the intake manifold tuning valve actuator linkage (1).

Caution: Do not use excessive force to disconnect or connect the intake manifold tuning valve actuator vacuum tank hose from the intake manifold. Using excessive force can cause damage to the intake manifold hose pin.

6. Disconnect the intake manifold tuning valve actuator vacuum tank hose (4) from the intake manifold.
7. Remove the 2 intake manifold tuning valve actuator bolts (3).
8. Remove the intake manifold tuning valve actuator (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the intake manifold tuning valve actuator (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution

2. Install the 2 intake manifold tuning valve actuator bolts (3) and tighten to 6 N·m (53 lb in) .

Caution: Do not use excessive force to disconnect or connect the intake manifold tuning valve actuator vacuum tank hose from the intake manifold. Using excessive force can cause damage to the intake manifold hose pin.

3. Connect the intake manifold tuning valve actuator vacuum tank hose (4) to the intake manifold.
4. Clip in the intake manifold tuning valve actuator linkage (1).
5. Install the intake manifold runner control valve actuator solenoid valve. Refer to Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve Actuator Solenoid Valve Replacement .

6. Clip in the throttle body heater outlet hose (2) to the intake manifold (1).
7. Connect the booster vacuum pipe (3) to the intake manifold.
8. Close the hood.
