DTC Descriptor
DTC P003A 00 Turbocharger Boost System
Performance
Circuit/System Description
The ECM varies the boost dependant upon the load requirements of
the engine.
Conditions for Running the DTC
• |
The battery voltage is equal to or greater than
11 V. |
• |
The engine speed is between 750-850 RPM. |
• |
The engine coolant temperature (ECT) is between
73–96°C (163–205°F). |
• |
DTCs P003A runs once per key cycle when the above
conditions are met. |
Conditions for Setting the DTC
• |
The engine control module (ECM) determines that
the difference between the desired boost pressure actuator and the
actual boost pressure actuator exceed a calibrated threshold. |
• |
The above condition is met. |
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
DTC P003A is a Type C DTC.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTC P003A is a Type C DTC.

Circuit/System Verification
- A mechanical fault can cause the DTC
- Check the following components for proper
working:

Boost Pressure Actuator LPT |
• |
Boost Pressure Actuator HPT |
- Verify the DTC does not reset.

If the DTC resets, replace the K20 Engine
Control Module. |
