Auxiliary Water Pump Bracket Replacement - 2.0L Diesel LBS

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine control module. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
2. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .





3. Remove the auxiliary water pump bracket bolt (1).
4. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
6. If equipped remove the engine shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
7. If equipped remove the front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .
8. If equipped remove the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .





9. Remove the auxiliary water pump outlet hose clamp (4) and the auxiliary water pump outlet hose (3).
10. Disconnect the auxiliary water pump wiring harness plug (2) from the auxiliary water pump (5).
11. Remove the heater outlet hose clamp (6) and the heater outlet hose (1).





12. Remove the starter ground cable nut (2).
13. Remove the starter ground cable (1) from the starter (3) and hang it aside.





14. Remove the starter stud (3).
15. Remove the auxiliary water pump bracket along with the auxiliary water pump (1).





16. Remove the 3 auxiliary water pump bolts (1).
17. Remove the auxiliary water pump (3) from the auxiliary water pump bracket (2).

Installation Procedure

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.






1. Install the auxiliary water pump (3) to the auxiliary water pump bracket (2).
2. Install and tighten the 3 auxiliary water pump bolts (1).





3. Install the auxiliary water pump bracket along with the auxiliary water pump (1).
4. Loosely install the auxiliary water pump bracket bolt (2).
5. Install the starter stud (3) and tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft) .





6. Install the starter ground cable (1) to the starter (3).
7. Install the starter ground cable nut (2) and tighten to 17 N·m (13 lb ft) .





8. Install the heater outlet hose (1) with the heater outlet hose clamp (6).
9. Connect the auxiliary water pump wiring harness plug (2) to the auxiliary water pump (5).
10. Install the auxiliary water pump outlet hose (3) with the auxiliary water pump outlet hose clamp (4).
11. If equipped install the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
12. If equipped install the front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .
13. If equipped install the engine shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
14. Lower the vehicle.





15. Tighten the auxiliary water pump bracket bolt (1) to 23 N·m (17 lb ft) .
16. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
17. Install the engine control module. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
18. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
