Subject:

Modification to immobiliser control unit casing with 90° ignition locks

 

Vehicles:

Corsa-B, Tigra, Astra-F, Vectra-B, Omega-B, Sintra

 

Condition:

The immobiliser control units will be modified during Model Year '98 on the casing with lugs inside the ring antenna. As a result the removal and installation procedure will be modified.

 

Remedy:

The modified removal and installation procedure is described in this Technical Information Bulletin.

 

 

 

 

Immobiliser Control Unit, Remove and Install

To remove:

Remove signal switch panelling, remove ignition key (3) and ignition lock cover (2).

Remove lock cylinder (4).

Remove immobiliser control unit (1) from ignition lock housing (5).

Release wiring harness plug and disconnect.

 

To install:

Connect wiring harness plug.

Push immobiliser control unit (1) onto ignition lock housing (5).

Install lock cylinder (4).

Insert ignition lock cover (2), install signal switch panelling.

Parts:

 

When replacing spare parts, immobiliser control units with lugs can be used to replace control units without lugs.

New ignition lock covers are required for control units with lugs. These may also be used for control units without lugs.

Important:

The specified time allowances do not include the time allowance for the vehicle set-up of .2 hrs.

For reimbursement of the vehicle set-up time of .2 hrs in warranty claims, enter the authorisation code ”T” and increase the main operation time allowance by .2 hrs.

The authorisation code may be used only once per work order. It may only be used more than once if the workplace and workteam are changed at the same time.
