Side Airbag, Remove and Install (Models F 08, F

 Remove
| 1. |
Disconnect battery
Note: Wait for 1 minute
until capacitor has discharged
|
| 2. |
Open upholstery covering on the back of the front seat backrest
(1)

Remove upholstery covering/pad of the front seat backrest 
|
|
| 3. |
Remove side airbag
| • |
Unlatch and disconnect (3) wiring harness plug, side airbag
(2)
|
| • |
Remove side airbag (4)
| – |
Unscrew 3x bolt (arrows)
Note: Always set aside
airbag unit with padded side upwards.

Install
| 4. |
Install side airbag
| • |
Connect and latch wiring harness plug
Note: Ensure the wiring
harness plug for the side airbag is latched correctly.
|
| • |
Tighten 3x nuts 5 Nm
Note: Nuts for side
airbag are self-locking and must be replaced.

Close upholstery covering on the back of the front seat
backrest
| • |
Install upholstery covering/pad, front seat backrest
|
|

Perform readiness check
|

Program volatile memories
