In these instances, the passenger seat must be pushed as far
back as possible and the backrest adjusted so that the lap belt is
taut. Any other layout is dangerous and not permitted. Fitting a
child seat on the front passenger seat is not possible at all if
the vehicle also has a side airbag.
An Isofix mounting is available as an optional extra for the
front passenger seat on the Meriva. An optional seat occupancy
detection system ensures that passenger and side airbag are
deactivated if a weight similar to that of a child is detected on
the passenger seat or if a child seat with corresponding
transponder is installed on the seat. In particular, the Isofix
mounting enables the seat to be installed safely and more
easily.
The front passenger seat is fitted with a sticker. In this case,
only Opel child safety systems with transponders should be
fitted.
