Belt Lock Tensioner, Remove and Install
 Remove
Important: It is only necessary
to switch off the ignition before commencing work on pyrotechnic
seat belt tensioners. Remove the ignition key and keep in a safe
place during the repair operation.

For front seats with side airbag:

Disconnect battery and wait 1 minute until the capacitor has
discharged
|

I = wiring harness plug for seat belt tensioner (1)
|
| 4. |
Unclip cover (2) wiring harness plug for instrument panel and
front seat
|
| 5. |
Unlatch wiring harness plug for belt buckle tensioner (3) and
disconnect from central wiring harness plug, front seat
|
| 6. |
Release cable tie on front seat belt buckle tensioner
|
| 7. |
Belt lock tensioner (4)
|
|
Install
| 8. |
Install seat belt tensioner
| • |
Fastening bolt of belt buckle tensioner on front seat is
inserted with bolt locking compound 35
Nm
|
|
| 9. |
Attach wiring harness, belt buckle tensioner to seat
bracket
|
| 10. |
Clip wiring harness plug for belt buckle tensioner into housing
for instrument panel and front seat wiring harness plugs
| • |
Ensure that the belt buckle tensioner wiring harness plug
engages correctly
|
|
| 11. |
Connect cover of wiring harness plug for instrument panel and
front seat
|
| 13. |
For front seats with side airbag
Note: Connect battery,
program volatile memories
|
