Removing and installing load-dependent brake proportioning valve, models F 08, F 08 & W5L, F 68 > < Brake Hose, Rear Left or Right, Remove and Install (Vehicles with Disc Brakes)

Load-Dependent Brake Force Regulator, Check and Adjust

Model F 08, F 08 & W5L, F 68 (vehicles without ABS)

Note:   The load-dependent brake proportioning valve is checked and adjusted with the vehicle unladen (empty weight, nothing in luggage compartment, approx. 5 L of fuel in tank, standing on wheels). The tension spring must lie against the brake proportioning valve lever and bracket without play or tension.

  Remove

1.   Check operation of brake force regulator
Object Number: 2402885 Size: DEFAULT


2.   Adjustment of brake force regulator
•   Remove clamping bolt (3)
•   Slide tensioning spring (1) forwards or backwards until the tensioning spring is in contact with the lever of the regulator without tension

  Install

3.   Insert clamping bolt with locking compound and tighten - tightening torque 11.5 Nm
4.   Check adjustment again, repeat adjustment procedure if necessary
