Brake Disc, Check for Runout > < Retaining Frame - Brake Calliper of Rear Wheel Brake, Remove and Install

Brake Linings and Brake Discs, Check for Wear

  Remove

1.   Remove brake linings
•   Brake linings of front wheel brake LUREF_1.gif
•   Brake linings of rear wheel brake LUREF_1.gif
2.   Measure brake lining remaining thickness using MKM-230-A (1)

Permissible minimum thickness of brake linings with lining plate:

Front brake linings:

7 mm

Rear brake linings:

7 mm

3.   Measure thickness of brake disc with MKM-230-A (1) at several points
Note:   Permissible tolerance of remaining brake disc thickness at various measurement points 0.01 mm

Permissible minimum thickness of brake:

Front brake disc (solid disc) Z 10 XE, Z 12 XE

8.0 mm

Front brake disc (ventilated) Z 10 XE, Z 12 XE

17.0 mm

Front brake disc (ventilated) Z 14 XE, Y 17 DT, Y 17 DTL, Z 18 XE

21.0 mm

Rear brake disc (solid disc) Z 18 XE

8.0 mm

Note:   Nominal Values, front wheel brake
Note:   Nominal values, rear wheel brake

4.   Check surface condition of brake disc
Note:   Where there are areas of overheating or scouring, the brake discs must be replaced.

  Install

5.   Install brake linings
•   Brake linings of front wheel brake LUREF_1.gif
•   Brake linings of rear wheel brake LUREF_1.gif
