Brake Anchor Plate – Rear Wheel Brake,
Remove and Install
Remove
1. |
Pull seal (1) away from plenum chamber as far as necessary

Raise covering flap (2) for brake master cylinder
|

2. |
Detach closure cap (3) from brake fluid reservoir
|
3. |
Remove brake hub/brake drum
- Model F 08 F 08 & W5L, F 68
- Model F 06, F 25
|
4. |
Remove brake shoes of the rear wheel brake
|
5. |
Remove wheel brake cylinder (4)
|
6. |
Detach retaining clamp (6) for parking brake cable on brake
anchor plate

Remove parking brake lever (5) from brake anchor plate
|
|
|
|
7. |
Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) for wheel sensor
• |
Unclip from brake line (arrow) and thread through brake anchor
plate
|
|
8. |
Support rear axle with a hydraulic jack on the trailing link of
the side to be fitted
• |
Detach fastening bolt (2) for shock absorber
|
• |
Lower rear axle with hydraulic jack until the shock absorber
can be swivelled aside
|
|
9. |
Remove fastening nuts (3) of wheel journal and remove wheel
journal with brake anchor plate.
|
|
|
10. |
Clean contact surfaces of wheel journal, rear axle and brake
anchor plate.
|
Install
11. |
Attach wheel spindle and brake anchor plate to rear axle with
new fastening bolts (1) - tightening torque 50 Nm + 30° + 15°
|
12. |
Attach shock absorber to rear axle

Swivel shock absorber into installation position
|
• |
Attach fastening bolt (2) to rear axle

To do this, raise hydraulic jack as far as necessary
- - tightening torque for M10 x 1.25 bolt: 65 Nm
- Tightening torque for M14 x 1.5 bolt: 110 Nm (cast steering axle)

Remove hydraulic jack.

14. |
Connect wheel sensor wiring harness (3) electrically and clip
onto brake line and bracket (arrows).

|
|
15. |
Install wheel brake cylinder (1)
|
16. |
Insert parking brake cable (2) into brake anchor plate and
secure with retaining clip (3)
|
17. |
Install brake shoes on rear wheel brake
|
18. |
Install drum hub/brake drum
- Model F 08 F 08 & W5L, F 68
- Model F 06, F 25
|
19. |
Fit rear wheel - tightening torque 110
Nm
|
20. |
Detach MKM-558-10 (4) from brake
fluid reservoir.
|
|
|
21. |
Bleed brake system and check for leaks
|
22. |
Press brake pedal repeatedly.
• |
Correct brake fluid level so that it reaches the "MAX"
mark.
|
|
23. |
Close closure cap (2)
• |
Place seal (1) on plenum chamber
|
