Low Pedal, Spongy > < ESP telltale lights up - ESP without function

Field Remedy: 1816

Subject: Brake pedal feeling - Improvement
Models: Engines: Option:
Corsa-C 2001...2004 Z12XE
Complaint: If applying the brake pedal consecutively within a short time, brake pedal feeling is changing.
Cause: Special customer driving behaviour.
Production: None.

Remedy:


In case of customer complaint replace the air intake pipe and the vacuum
line brake servo.


Working Procedure:


 1. Loosen water deflector partially (Picture I).



     - remove engine compartment seal (2)
     - fold up wind deflector (1)

 2. Remove vacuum line



     - remove vacuum line from brake booster (1)
     - pull vacuum line out of bulkhead (2)
     - remove vacuum line from air intake manifold (3)

 3. Remove air intake pipe (Picture III, 1).

 4. Install new air intake pipe (Picture IV, 1).

 5. Install new vacuum line (Picture V).



     - install vacuum line to air intake manifold
     - install vacuum line to bulkhead
     - install vacuum line to brake servo
     - install vacuum line to air intake pipe

 6. Fasten water deflector.
 7. Install engine compartment seal.
 8. Program ECU with new software.



    Note:
    Softwarwe is available as of TIS-CD 52.
