All Pistons with Con-Rod, Remove and Install
Remove

Detach oil baffle plate (2)

3. |
Set 1st cylinder to TDC
|
4. |
Remove 2 con-rod bearing caps (1)
Note: Observe cylinder
order.

Mark con-rods with con-rod bearing caps
|
Important: Caution: The mating
surfaces of the cod-rods and con-rod bearing caps form an
individual fit and as a result must never be interchanged or
damaged. Do not lay on mating surfaces
|
• |
Unscrew 4 bolts
|
• |
Push 2x piston with con-rod upwards
|
|
|
|
8. |
Turn crankshaft
• |
In direction of engine rotation
|
|
9. |
Remove 2 con-rod bearing covers
Note: Observe cylinder
sequence

Mark con-rods with con-rod bearing caps
|

Unscrew 4 bolts
|
• |
Push 2x piston with con-rod upwards
|
|
12. |
Remove 8 con-rod bearing shells
Note: Mark con-rod
bearing shells. Observe sequence.

Insert 8 con-rod bearing shells
• |
In con-rod, con-rod bearing cap
Note: Note
markings.
|
|
15. |
Adjust 3x piston ring
• |
Arrange joints offset by 120°
|
|
|
|
16. |
Install piston
Important: Arrow on piston head
points towards the engine timing side.
|
• |
Coat piston and cylinder bores with engine oil
|
• |
Compress piston rings with piston ring tensioner
|
|
18. |
Attach 2 con-rod bearing caps
• |
Coat 2x con-rod bearing journal with engine oil
|
Important: Note order and
installation position
|
• |
|
• |
Tighten 4 new bolts 20 Nm +
40°
|
|
19. |
Turn crankshaft
• |
In direction of engine rotation
|
|
21. |
Install piston
Important: Arrow on piston head
points towards the engine timing side.
|
• |
Coat piston and cylinder bores with engine oil
|
• |
Compress piston rings with piston ring tensioner
|
|
23. |
Attach 2 con-rod bearing caps
• |
Coat 2x con-rod bearing journal with engine oil
|
Important: Note order and
installation position.
|
• |
Replace 4x bolt
|
• |
Tighten 4 new bolts 20 Nm +
40°
|
|

Attach oil baffle plate
|
25. |
Install cylinder head
|
