Valve timing - Z 13 DT DOHC diesel engine One of the outstanding features of the new engine is the valve timing system with chain drive, cam followers and hydraulic tappets The timing chain drives the exhaust camshaft via the camshaft sprocket. At the end of the exhaust camshaft a gear set transmits the rotational movement to the inlet camshaft. The valves are actuated by roller followers with hydraulic clearance adjustment. The diameter of the valve disc is the same for both inlet and exhaust valves and is 21.47 mm. Structure of the valve timing system
