Z 10 XEP DOHC-0 petrol engine
The Z 10 XEP engine replaces the former Z 10 XE engine and is
the entry level, three-cylinder member of the new 2nd generation
DOHC-0 engine family.
Overview of the main features of the Z
10 XEP engine:
- Port shut-off with the Twinport system
- Maintenance-free camshaft drive via timing chain
- Cylinder head with optimised combustion chambers and oil
circuit
- New cylinder head gasket
- Oil pump with higher delivery rate, optimised for friction
- Noise-optimised pistons
- Hollow-cast crankshaft for weight optimisation
- Capacity increased to 998 cm 3
- Cylinder bore enlarged to 73.4 mm
- Maximum torque increased to 88 Nm
- Compression ratio increased to 10.5:1
- Modified camshafts
- Friction-optimised timing chain and linings
- Performance-optimised coolant pump with new sliding ring
gasket
