ABOUT US
Repair engine using a short block (Z 14 XE without AC, LHD, Z 16 YNG) > < Check engine pressure loss (Z 10 XE, Z 10 XEP)

Corsa C

Check engine pressure loss (Z 12 XE, Z12 XEP, Z 14 XEP)

Note:   Engine warmed up (oil temperature min. 80°)

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
2.   Remove air cleaner housing (1)
•   Disconnect 2 wiring harness plugs
– Hot film mass air flow sensor (3), tank vent valve (2)
•   Unclip tank vent valve
•   Remove suction pipe (4)
– Unscrew 2 nuts
– Detach engine vent hose (5)
•   For Z 12 XEP, Z 14 XEP: detach air intake hose
– Release clamp
•   Remove bolt (arrow)

3.   Remove ignition module
•   Remove ignition module cover
Note:   Move to the right
•   Disconnect wiring harness connector.
•   Unscrew 2 bolts
Important:   Do not tilt.
•   Extract using KM-6009 (1)

4.   Remove 4 spark plugs
•   Use KM-194-E
5.   Raise vehicle
6.   Remove ribbed V-belt cover
•   Unscrew 3 bolts (1)
•   Remove clip (arrow)

7.   Lower vehicle
8.   Set crankshaft to marking ignition TDC 1st cylinder
•   Unscrew oil filling nozzle cover
•   Check through the oil filler opening on the cylinder head cover that the cam of 4th cylinder angles downward and inward.
– Otherwise, rotate the crankshaft 360°

9.   Apply guide marks to the belt pulley
•   Displaced 180° to the marking for ignition TDC 1st cylinder (arrow)

10.   Unscrew oil filling nozzle cover
Warning:   Carefully and slowly open coolant expansion tank cover. Risk of burning.
11.   Unscrew coolant expansion tank cover
12.   Remove oil dipstick
13.   Install compressed air adapter
•   Install compressed air adapter in no.1 cylinder sparkplug thread
•   Attach pressure loss tester
14.   Select gear and apply parking brake
Note:   All wheels must be in contact with the ground
•   In automatic vehicles, move gear selection lever to "P"

15.   Check no.1 cylinder pressure loss
Note:   Comply with manufacturer's instructions
16.   Check engine pressure loss
17.   Set no.3 cylinder to TDC
18.   Move adapter and pressure loss tester to no.3 cylinder
19.   Check no.3 cylinder pressure loss
20.   Set no.4 cylinder to TDC
21.   Move adapter and pressure loss tester to no.4 cylinder
22.   Check no.4 cylinder pressure loss
23.   Set no.2 cylinder to TDC
24.   Move adapter and pressure loss tester to no.2 cylinder
25.   Check no.2 cylinder pressure loss
26.   Remove pressure loss tester
27.   Put vehicle into neutral
28.   Remove adapter from no.2 cylinder

  Install

29.   Tighten 4 spark plugs 25 Nm
•   Use KM-194-E
30.   Install ignition module
•   Unscrew KM-6009
•   Tighten 2 bolts 8 Nm
•   Connect wiring harness plug
•   Attach ignition module cover
31.   Insert oil dipstick
32.   Screw in coolant expansion tank cover
33.   Screw in the oil filler nozzle cover
34.   Install air cleaner housing
•   Tighten bolt
•   Attach suction pipe
– Replace seal ring
– Tighten 2 nuts 8 Nm
•   For Z 12 XEP, Z 14 XEP: attach air intake hose
– Tighten clamp 3.5 Nm
•   Attach engine vent hose
•   Connect 2 wiring harness plugs
35.   Raise vehicle
36.   Install ribbed V-belt cover
•   Screw in bolts
•   Install clip
37.   Lower vehicle
38.   Close bonnet
