J451700 Engine Oil Pressure, Check (Z 18 XE, with Air Conditioning, LHD)

Note:   Engine warmed up (oil temperature at least 80°C).

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet 2.   Disconnect battery Note:   In vehicles from model year 04 onwards with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic adjustment each time the battery is disconnected and must be recalibrated. •   Detach ground cable 3.   Raise vehicle 4.   Remove right-hand air duct •   Unscrew 3 bolts (arrows) 5.   Remove ribbed V-belt cover •   Unscrew 3 bolts (1) •   Remove clip (2)

6.   Remove ribbed V-belt Note:   Mark running direction. •   Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner in direction of arrow with KM-913-A (2) •   Use KM-6130 (1) •   Slacken ribbed V-belt tensioner with KM-913-A •   Remove KM-6130

7.   Disconnect oil pressure switch wiring harness plug (1) 8.   Release alternator support •   Unscrew 3 bolts •   Remove nut •   Swing alternator support backwards

9.   Remove oil pressure switch •   Place collecting basin underneath. 10.   Attach KM-498-B 11.   Fasten alternator support •   Tighten nut 35 Nm •   Tighten 3x bolts 35 Nm 12.   Install ribbed V-belt Note:   Observe running direction and installation position •   Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner in direction of arrow with KM-913-A •   Use KM-6130 •   Slacken ribbed V-belt tensioner with KM-913-A •   Remove KM-6130 13.   Lower vehicle 14.   Connect battery
