Sheathed Glow Plugs, Replace (Z 17 DTH, with Air Conditioning, LHD)

Remove

1.	Open bonnet

Important: On vehicles with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic adjustment each time the battery is disconnected. It must be recalibrated

Disconnect battery

•	Detach ground cable

Remove air intake hose

•	Release 2x clamp

Remove engine control unit (1)

•	Disconnect 2 wiring harness plugs

•	Unscrew 2 bolts

•	Unscrew 2 nuts

5.	Detach engine control unit bracket Unscrew 4 bolts

Loosen air intake pipe (1)

•	Unscrew 2 bolts

Disconnect 4 sheathed glow plug wiring harness plugs (1)

•	Use KM-717

8.	Remove 4x sheathed glow plug (2)

Install

9.	Tighten 4 sheathed glow plugs 17.5 Nm

10.	Connect 4x sheathed glow plug wiring harness plugs

11.

Fasten air intake pipe

•	Tighten 2 bolts

12.

Attach engine control unit bracket

•	Tighten 2 bolts

•	Tighten 2 nuts

•	Connect 3 wiring harness plugs

13.

Install air intake hose.

•	Fasten 2 clamps 5 Nm

14.

Connect battery

•	Ground cable

15.	Close bonnet

16.	Program volatile memory
