Customer complaint about the following
symptoms: a.) Engine stalls during driving b.) Engine does not
start c.) Engine starts but will not respond to throttle pedal |
| Cause: |
At high (ambient) temperatures gel within
the ECU plug will pour into the pin connector and therefore
avoiding electrical contact which affects the rail pressure signal
resulting into P0093. |

Remedy:
In case of customer complaint proceed as follows:
Before any repair, conduct fuel leak test with TECH 2. TECH 2 has a
fuel leak test function, that load 180Mpa to the fuel line (At the
idle condition, there is only 35Mpa). Check visually for any fuel
leak! If leak found, repair according to TIS 2000 instruction.
1) Fuel pressure value read out at engine stop condition by TECH 2.
If it is more than 1Mpa, exchange the engine wiring harness.
2) If the vehicle had no response for throttle right after engine
started, replace engine wiring harness.
3) If the engine stall by TC P0093 occurred at high load condition,
replace the rail. (The pressure limiter on the rail open at over
211Mpa and TEC 2 can make 180Mpa at the fuel line. If the pressure
limiter open between those pressures, ECU may set TC P0093 and stop
the engine.
Note:
If 2) or 3) is not clearly to identify contact ETAC for guided root
cause analysis.
Note:
With the new wiring harness the electrical plug for the swirl actuator
was deleted. This feedback signal was never used by the ECU therefore
it was decided to delete mentioned plug from the wiring harness.
Nevertheless the vacuum line must be connected to the vacuum box.
