Remove and install engine control unit (Z 12 XE, Z 12 XEP, Z 14 XEP, with air conditioning, LHD)

Note:   If the engine control unit is replaced or exchanged, the safety code must be reset using TECH 2 before removing

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet 2.   Disconnect battery Note:   In vehicles as of model year 04 onwards with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic adjustment each time the battery is disconnected, and must be recalibrated •   Detach ground cable 3.   Disconnect 2 engine control unit wiring harness plugs •   Release in direction of arrow (arrows) 4.   Unscrew ground cable •   Remove bolt (1) 5.   Remove engine control unit •   Unscrew 4 bolts
