Disconnect battery
Note: In vehicles as of
model year 04 onwards with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses
its basic adjustment each time the battery is disconnected, and
must be recalibrated

Remove suction pipe

Detach engine vent hose (3)
|
• |
Remove air intake hose (1)
|
• |
For Z 12 XEP, Z 14 XEP: detach air intake hose
|

|
|
4. |
Disconnect 5 cable management wiring harness plugs
• |
Throttle valve module (2), injection valves (3)
|
• |
For Z 12 XEP, Z 14 XEP: remove fuel rail cover
|
|
|
|

Release fuel pressure with KM-J-34730-91
• |
Unscrew test connection protective cap (2) from fuel rail
(1)
Note: Test connection
is on top of fuel rail in Z 10 XEP
|

Detach fuel line (2) with KM-796-A
|
7. |
Detach throttle valve module
Note: Cooling system
remains closed
|
|
|
9. |
Detach 4 injectors
• |
Remove 4 retaining clamps (2)
|
• |
Replace 8 injector seal rings (1)
|
|
|
|
Install

Attach injectors
• |
Attach retaining clips
Note: Note installation
position. Groove in retaining clamp must engage with injector lug
(arrow)

Install fuel distributor pipe
|
12. |
Clean sealing surfaces
|
13. |
Install throttle valve module
|

Attach fuel line
• |
Attach fuel line
Note: Connection must
audibly engage

Connect 5 engine management wiring harness plugs
• |
For Z 12 XEP, Z 14 XEP: attach fuel rail cover

Attach engine vent hose

Install suction pipe

Program volatile memory
