Remove

When replacing the engine control unit

Establish communication with TECH2
|
|
Important: On vehicles as of
model year 04 with ESP - every time the battery is disconnected,
the steering angle sensor loses its basic setting. It must be
recalibrated.

Disconnect battery
|
4. |
Loosen coolant compensation tank
• |
Unclip coolant compensation tank
|
|
5. |
Disconnect fuel filter wiring harness plug
|
6. |
Detach engine control unit bracket
• |
Disconnect 2 engine control unit wiring harness plugs (1)

Release wiring harness plug
|
|
• |
Unscrew 2x nuts (arrows)
|
|
|
|
7. |
Remove engine control unit
• |
Unscrew 4x nuts (arrows)
|
|
|
|
Install
8. |
Fit engine control unit
• |
Tighten 4 new nuts 15 Nm
|
|
9. |
Attach engine control unit bracket
• |
Connect 2 engine control unit wiring harness plugs
– |
Lock wiring harness plug
|
|
|
10. |
Connect fuel filter wiring harness plug
|
11. |
Fasten coolant compensation tank
• |
Clip in coolant compensation tank
|
|
12. |
Fill out sticker
Note: Fill out and
affix service sticker.

Program volatile memory
