| Complaint: |
Booming noise at around 1500 rpm from the
engine. |
| Cause: |
The noise is caused by frequency of
Poly-V-belt itself and the complete Poly-V-drive. |
| Production: |
Improved Poly-V-belts with changed material
have been introduced in production as of the following engine
number: 1278491 (March 2005). Modified tensioners are scheduled to
be introduced in August 2005. |
Remedy:
In case of a customer complaint install improved Poly-V-belt
which will solve most complaints.
Note: For Astra-H please carry out TSB 1731 (subframe damper)
first.

Only in a very few number of cases it is necessary to replace the tensioner in addition:
