Centre fuel tank degassing line (petrol
engines)
For diesel engines, remove and install centre fuel
return
Warning: Fuel vapour
or escapes – observe safety measures and national
legislation!
 Remove
| 1. |
Disconnect battery

Release earth cable
Note: For "ECO" model
variant: Remove underbody air guide plate 
|

| 2. |
Disconnect centre fuel tank degassing line (1) or centre fuel
return line
| • |
With KM-796 from rear fuel tank
degassing line (petrol engines) (2) or rear fuel return line
(diesel engines) at quick-release fitting
|
| • |
Seal off with Closure Plug KM-807
|
| • |
With KM-796 fro, front fuel tank
degassing line (petrol engines) (3) or front fuel return line
(diesel engines) at quick-release fitting
|
| • |
Seal off with Closure Plug KM-807

| 3. |
Remove bracket (arrows) from underbody. Unclip centre fuel tank
degassing line or centre fuel return line from brackets and water
deflector (4) and remove.

|
Install
| 4. |
Attach centre fuel tank degassing line (1) or centre fuel
return line
| • |
Remove front closure plug KM-807
|
| • |
Attach with quick-release fitting to front fuel tank degassing
line (petrol engines) or front fuel return line (diesel engines)

Note: Quick-release
fitting must engage perceptibly.

Remove rear closure plug KM-807
|
| • |
Attach with quick-release fitting to rear fuel tank degassing
line (petrol engines)(2) or to rear fuel return line (diesel
engines)
Note: Quick-release
fitting must engage perceptibly.

| 5. |
Clip centre fuel tank degassing line or centre fuel return line
in bracket (arrows) and water deflector.
|
|
|
| 6. |
Attach bracket to underbody – tightening torque 1.2 Nm .
Note: For "ECO" model
variant: Install underbody air guide plate
|
| 7. |
Connect earth cable to battery.
|
| 8. |
Program volatile memories
|
| 9. |
Check centre return line (diesel engine) for leaks
Note: With the engine
running
