Fuel Filter Element, Replace (Diesel Engines)

Important:   Fuel escapes – observe safety measures and national legislation.

1.	Remove fuel filter housing Note:   for Y 17 DT, Y 17 DTL for Z 13 DT, Z 13 DTJ

2.   Detach fuel filter housing cover (1) from fuel filter housing (3) 3.   Remove fuel filter element (2) from fuel filter housing Note:   Store in a suitable container •   Drain remaining fuel from fuel filter housing into a suitable container.

4.   Open fuel filter housing with EN-46784 Note:   For Z 13 DT, Z 13 DTJ •   Clamp fuel filter housing in vice with EN-46784-020 (3) •   Open cover of fuel filter housing (2) with EN-46784-010 (1)

5.   Remove screw-on cover (1) of fuel filter housing (5) Note:   For Z 13 DT, Z 13 DTJ 6.   Remove filter element with upper part of housing (2, 3) 7.   Remove seal ring (4) 8.   Rotate element (3) anticlockwise through 50°

  Install

11.   Assemble components of fuel filter element Note:   Assemble as shown in illustration, use new gaskets. 1. Central bolt - tightening torque 6 Nm 2. Gasket, central bolt 3. Heated fuel filter housing lid. 4. Fuel filter housing lid seal 5. Fuel filter element 6. Fuel filter housing

12.   Assemble components as illustrated Note:   For Z 13 DT, Z 13 DTJ 13.   Insert new filter element (3) 14.   Replace seal ring (4) 15.   Turn element (3) 50° clockwise in upper part of housing (2) Note:   The upper part of the housing only fits in one installation position. Incorrect assembly is not possible. 16.   Position screw-on cover (1) on fuel filter housing (5) 17.   EN-46784-20 clamped in vice 18.   Screw in screw-on cover (1) and tighten with EN-46784-10 Note:   Tightening torque 30 Nm

19.	Install fuel filter housing Note:   For diesel engines or for diesel engines, Z 13 DT, Z 13 DTJ
