Replacing Trailer Device Control Unit or Flex Fix System Control Unit L08

Replacing the trailer device control unit or the Flex Fix System control unit L08

  Remove

1.   Disconnect battery
2.   Remove luggage compartment mat
3.   Fold down rear-seat back
4.   Remove lower tailgate inner panelling (2)
•   If present, unclip panel (1), Flex Fix System operating handle
•   Undo 6 clips (3)

5.   Release C-pillar panelling (1)
•   Unclip airbag panel (2)
•   Undo 2 clips and remove from guide
•   Leave C-pillar panelling hanging on belt (3)

6.   Open the side wall panelling service flap
7.   Detach striker pins (1), rear-seat back
•   Unscrew 2x bolts (2)

8.   Detach rear side-wall panelling
•   Unscrew 2 bolts (arrows)
•   Undo 4x clip
•   Disconnect wiring harness connector.

9.   Remove control unit
•   Remove control unit (1) from bracket
– Release retaining lug (2)
•   Disconnect 2 wiring harness plugs (3)

  Install

10.   Fit control unit
•   Connect 2x wiring harness plug
•   Insert control unit in bracket
– Latch retaining lug
11.   Attach rear side-wall panelling
•   Fix wiring harness plug
•   Clip in 4x clip
•   Tighten 2x bolts
12.   Attach striker pins, rear-seat back
•   Tighten 2x bolts
13.   Attach service flap, side-wall panelling
14.   Attach C-pillar panelling
•   Insert into guide
•   Clip in 2x
15.   Install lower tailgate inner panelling
•   Clip in 6x clip
•   If present, clip in panel, Flex Fix System operating handle
16.   Set rear-seat back into starting position
17.   Insert luggage compartment mat
18.   Connect battery
19.   Program volatile memories
