Replacing the trailer device control unit or the Flex Fix System control unit L68

  Remove

1.   Disconnect battery
2.   Remove the rear-seat back (single unit)
  • L 08
  • L 68
3.   Remove lower tailgate inner panelling LUREF_1.gif
4.   Remove the inner panelling of the C-pillar LUREF_1.gif
5.   Open the service flap (1), side wall panelling
6.   Remove tyre inflation system (2)
•   Disconnect wiring harness connector.

7.   Detach striker pins (1), rear-seat back
•   Unscrew 2x bolts (2)

8.   Detach side wall panelling (1)
•   Unscrew 3x bolts (3)
•   Undo 5x clip

9.   Remove control unit
•   Remove control unit (1) from bracket
– Release retaining lug (2)
•   Disconnect 2 wiring harness plugs (3)

  Install

10.   Fit control unit
•   Connect 2x wiring harness plug
•   Insert control unit in bracket
– Latch retaining lug
11.   Attach side wall panelling
•   Clip in 5x clip
•   Tighten 3x bolts
Note:   Ensure correct seating of tailgate rubber seal.
12.   Attach striker pins, rear-seat back
•   Tighten 2x bolts
13.   Close service flap, side wall panelling
14.   Install the inner panelling of the C-pillar LUREF_1.gif
15.   Install lower tailgate inner panelling LUREF_1.gif
16.   Install the rear-seat back (single unit)

17.   Connect battery
18.   Program volatile memories
