Diagnosis
- Airbag units and control units may only be checked using TECH 1.
- The diagnostic connection may only be used for connecting TECH 1.
- During checking operations on the wiring harness with test lamps, voltmeters or ohmmeters, the plug connection to the airbag units and control unit must be disconnected.
- Never perform measurements on the inflators with test lamps, voltmeters or ohmmeters, as the test current may be too high and cause unintentional deployment.
- If the airbag wiring harness is integrated in the instrument wiring harness of the vehicle, all cables of the main wiring harness can be repaired which do not concern the airbag wiring harness. Should the airbag wiring harness be damaged, however, the instrument wiring harness must in any event be replaced.
