(If nominal value is not attained)

·   Ignition OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal

·   Remove driver's seat

·   Release 5-pin plug "longitude" and disconnect from control unit K103

·   Using multimeter, measure resistance in 5-pin plug between Ter. 3 (x) and Ter. 1 (x)

approx. 10 kW

·   Potentiometer for motor M72.3 "longitude" defective (resistance path interrupted)

·   Lead interruption between 5-pin plug Ter. 3 (x) and Ter. 1 (x) and potentiometer for M72.3

·   Lead short circuit between 5-pin plug Ter. 3 (x) and Ter. 1 (x) to potentiometer for M72.3

·   Using multimeter, measure resistance in 5-pin plug between Ter. 2 (x) and Ter. 3 (x)

between 1 kW and 10 kW, depending on "seat position"

·   Lead interruption between 5-pin plug Ter. 2 (x) and slider connection of potentiometer for M72.3

·   Potentiometer for M72.3 defective (slider has no contact)

·   Lead short circuit between 5-pin plug Ter. 3 (x) and Ter. 2 (x) and potentiometer for M72.3
