Note:
The rocker switch for backrest forwards/ backwards is the
second switch from the front of the seat.
If the corresponding motor circuit is also okay, the
backrest moves forwards or backwards.
If the motor has already moved to one of its end stops, the
motor will only move again when the above rocker switch is pressed in the
other direction.

If the nominal values for the rocker switch are attained
but the seat motor does not respond, carry out test step 0.
The rocker switches for seat adjustment (S40) are connected
to control unit K103 by a 9-pin plug.
The rocker switch for backrest forwards (S40.10), is wired
between Ter. 3 (black) and Ter. 1 (black) in the 9-pin plug
The rocker switch for backrest backwards (S40.11), is wired
between Ter. 3 (black) and Ter. 1 (blue) in the 9-pin plug

Cause of fault:
(If nominal value is not
attained)
|
· Check whether rocker switch for
backrest forwards/ backwards jams
· Ignition OFF, disconnect battery
negative terminal
· Remove driver's seat
|
Switch can be moved forwards and backwards
|
· Rocker switch or seat panelling
mechanically faulty
|
|
· Release 9-pin plug and disconnect from
control unit K103
· Using multimeter, measure resistance in
9-pin plug between Ter. 3 (black) and Ter. 1 (black). Rocker switch
for backrest forwards (S40.10) not actuated:
