  Remove

For V6 engine: Disconnect wiring harness plug for oxygen sensor. Remove exhaust system.

Detach heat shields from vehicle underbody. Remove propshaft (1, 3 fastening bolts) with single-disc joint from transmission flange.

Remove propshaft without single-disc joint from differential flange.

Remove centre bearing bracket (2, 2 fastening bolts) with 2 fastening bolts (2) from vehicle underbody.

Press together propshaft (1) on slider until guide pins on transmission and differential are free. Remove propshaft.

When replacing propshaft:

Convert centre bearing bracket (3, 2 fastening bolts) – tightening torque 22 Nm / 16 lbf. ft.

Convert single-disc joint M12 x 1.5 – tightening torque 95 Nm / 70 lbf. ft.

If torx bolts are used: Convert single-disc joint M10 x 1.25 – tightening torque 50 Nm / 37 lbf. ft., then turn bolts a further 45 + 15°.

  Install

Attach propshaft to underbody with slider at front. Attach centre bearing bracket (2) to vehicle underbody – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.

Install front single-disc joint to transmission flange – tightening torque 95 Nm / 70 lbf. ft.

When replacing single-disc joints:

Attach rear single-disc joint (1) with preinstalled fastening bolts for propshaft to differential flange – tightening torque 95 Nm / 70 lbf. ft. (For version with Torx bolts: tightening torque 50 Nm / 37 lbf. ft, then turn bolts a further 75° + 15°)

Rear propshaft to single-disc joint M 12 x 1.5 – tightening torque 95 Nm / 70 lbf. ft. (When using Torx bolts: tightening torque 50 Nm / 37 lbf. ft., then turn bolts a further 45° + 15°).

Attach heat shields to vehicle underbody with fastening nuts and fastening bolts (arrows).

For V6 engine: Install exhaust system. Connect wiring harness plug for oxygen sensor.
