Torsional Vibration Damper, Remove and Install > < AC Condenser Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install

Ribbed V-belt Tensioner, Remove and Install

  Remove

Remove visco-fan – see operation "Visco-fan, Remove and Install".

Mark direction of travel of ribbed V-belt.

Remove ribbed V-belts – see operation "Ribbed V-belts, Remove and Install".

Undo attachment screws (1), (2) and screw plug (3). Remove damper and shift linkage lever.

Note:   In some cases the bearing pin may unscrew together with the closure bolt. Detach bearing pin from closure bolt with KM-824-A (4).

Install bearing pin with new seal in timing case with KM-824-A – tightening torque 65 Nm / 48 lbf. ft.

Caution

The damper (1) on the ribbed V-belt tensioner must be positioned upright. Wrongly positioned ribbed V-belt tensioners can usually be bled by compressing them several times in their installed position.

  Install

Insert ribbed V-belt tensioner and damper.

Install screw plug with new seal – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.

Connect damper attachment screw to cylinder head – tightening torque 40 Nm / 29.5 lbf. ft.

Attach damper fastening bolt to shift linkage lever – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.

Note running direction of ribbed V-belt. Install ribbed V-belt – see operation "Ribbed V-belt, remove and install".

Install visco-fan – see operation "Visco-fan, Remove and Install".
